For aluminum siding with excessive mildew or mold, we’ll coat the surface in suds, then power wash at a lower pressure. True, we encouraged soft washing for vinyl siding and stucco fixtures (which have plastic components) in our December blog. However, it’s safe to power wash vinyl decks and plastic fences. Power washing easily removes debris and dirt from plastic fences and vinyl decks, but it doesn’t remove embedded stains. Just as it is for aluminum siding and concrete driveways, you shouldn’t power wash vinyl decks or plastic fences that aren’t in pristine condition. The pressure could further damage their surfaces.
